2024 FMMS Recap

Recently, team members from Clinkenbeard, along with Mike Leigh, CAPT, USN (ret), Owner of AKTOptimize, attended FMMS, hosted by American Society of Naval Engineers. Mike Leigh shared his insights on this year’s event: I can confidently state that this was our best and most successful FMMS to date! Our booth was a hub for participants to discover the advanced maintenance training systems provided by Clinkenbeard and AKTOptimize. The Open ToughBook, showcasing AKT, was in constant operation, exemplifying its use in the workplace for Sailors and highlighting our ‘See It – Do It – Know It’ approach. Conversations rapidly transitioned into areas of client interest, with AKTOptimize efficiently presenting related visual learning applications, while Clinkenbeard discussed its production capabilities for specific hardware/components.

The areas that garnered the most interest were AKTOptimize’s examples and its swift development of impactful visual learning applications that Sailors can use anywhere on a ship, ensuring the accurate completion of complex and seldom-performed maintenance tasks.

Additionally, Clinkenbeard’s advanced manufacturing capabilities for producing a wide range of complex and precise components and equipment caught attention, especially the fabrication of obsolescent parts, which directly addressed some of the most urgent issues.

It was a pleasure to engage with other industry professionals to discuss the latest trends, systems and technologies.
